Exactly Paradise! Name Speak for itself
Posted on: 7/21/2018

Every year my wife and I take our parents & children on a family vacation to the Abacos.
When they say the homes name is Paradise they mean exactly that. This house with its views from it’s wrap around porch’s & crows nest is nothing short of spectacular.
Wake up & watch the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from your front porch rocking chair & chase the sun set as it slips behind the Sea of Abaco from another rocking chair that awaits you on the back porch. Walk down to the beach out front & watch the surfers 🏄 ripping through the waves or paddle board or kayak from beach out back.
Nothing feels better after a long day on the water then diving into the refreshing freshwater pool that is nestled perfectly in between the main house & the guesthouse at the top of the stairs from the boat dock.
The boat dock is unequaled able to comfortably fit & power I believe a 60 foot yacht, but handled our 30 foot center console perfectly with plenty of room to add other visiting friends boats as well. The two hammocks on the dock are a welcome sight after a long day on the water & we spent many hours on the dock fishing & talking about our day. Speaking of fishing they also have a cleaning table at one end of the dock that we used regularly.
The house itself is comfortably equipped with everything you need including a whole house generator which is a must because the power goes out often, equipped with several refrigerators is so helpful when having to shop & plan in advance for your stay.
The guest house with its new furniture & fully equipped kitchen & two bedrooms as well as private porch really helps when you bring extra guests that want their own space.
I would be remiss if I did not mention how great Hopetown Hideaways is & how helpful they are on setting up transportation, food delivery, golf cart delivery, boat delivery and ferry service, any request that was made was handled immediately I can’t thank them enough.
Jamie the caretaker is amazing he will meet you at the dock load all your belongings in his pick up truck & deliver them up to the house for you, then upon your departure he will do the same thing in reverse load everything into his truck and deliver it back down to the dock for you, but his attention to the guests doesn’t stop there. Not only does he make sure everything is working in the house to your satisfact

Best Spot on the island!
Posted on: 6/28/2018

The pictures online do not do it justice. We found it searching blindly online. This was our firdst trip to this area of the Bahamas. Most of our "Caribbean" experieces in the past has been bareboating through the BVI's but, after several recommendations, we decided to give the Abacos a whirl. Having the kids along for the ride, we know we could be happier renting a home with a dock so that we could still enjoy the island hopping via the center console we rented. The pool and ocean view were added bonuses. As was trhe super convenient proximity at Abaco Inn with their superb bourbon selection and fantastic margartias (sugar free for the diabetis and carb conscious among us) amde by Daphne. We had such a fabulous family vacay and hope to come stay in your beautiful home again soon!!!

A Great Stay on Elbow Cay
Posted on: 7/27/2015

The Champion and Miller families had a great stay at the Paradise house. The house was so well equipped and perfect for our party of 11. We especially loved the spacious decking and outdoor features! We felt very attended to by the caretaker, Jamie, who made contact with us at various times during the week to check on our satisfaction. In addition, when we needed him to fix a lock, it was taken care of within hours.  He really did a great job for us and we appreciated it so much.

Everything else was perfect and we can’t wait to come back next year!  Thanks so much for giving us a great stay on Elbow!

The location and amenities of this house is exactly what we were looking for in a vacation. There is something for everyone to do from the Sound to the beach. And that's before even getting on the boat for the day! A few simple corrections would be helpful for the next guests. 1. More silverware, especially forks. There were only 10. 2. Replace the frying pans with new nonstick. We cooked almost every night and the pans were in poor condition. 3. A gas grille would be appreciated. Colyn was very helpful in fulfilling our immediate requests. Thanks for providing such a beautiful home to rent.

My family and I had a wonderful time, plenty of space with room to spare for 11. You will want a golf cart and/or boat to get a round it's a bit of a walk to Hopetown. This property truly has every amenity available with Atlantic beach on one side and private inner beach and dock on the other. With all of that water around us, we certainly even managed a few dips in the pool! There isn't a single picture that can compare to how large and lovely this place is!! Thank you Hope Town Hideaways and Old Mutton for all of your help and hospitality. Looking forward to a speedy return.

Thank you Carla for the great review and we are so happy you enjoyed the house and your stay.

We look forward to seeing you again very soon!

Maybe the best location on Elbow Cay - on bluff overlooking ocean & dock/sound in rear. Excellent response to house problems from caretakers. Nice pool. Exceeded family expectations - we had three generations (11 family members) staying a week. Easy trip from Marsh Harbour if you pick up your boat at the Crossing Dock. Certainly not the cheapest place on the island, but great family experience if you can afford it. JVF

Paradise in Elbow Cay was the perfect spot for our vacation. The home is spacious and is perfectly placed so that you have a view of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Sea of Abaco. The main house easily sleeps 10, and the guest house provided a perfect way for our teens to enjoy their week even though their parents were nearby. The house is conveniently located near several delicious restaurants (Firefly, Abaco Inn, Sea Spray and On Da Beach). Hope Town is also within reach by golf cart or boat, and has several restaurants, a coffee shop, cute gift shops and a beautiful light house. The caretakers of this property were extremely helpful and were always available when we needed a hand. We loved this house, and would rent it again.

 Good afternoon Elizabeth,

We are so happy to hear you had such a great time!

I will send this on to Colyn for you.

Have a great day!

Tremendous location & facilities
Posted on: 12/11/2011

We were two families sharing this house, 2 couples and three late teen/early twenty kids. Our daughters told me this was best family vacation we've ever done. Tops all inclusive penthouse in Cancun last year, Turks and Caicos, Outer Banks and Tortola Villa. We had to charter a private Albury ferry from Marsh Harbor to our private dock on White Sound because we had a late evening arrival - the approach to the dock at sunset with the house lights on and our caretaker waiting to help us onpack was a first class welcome that made us immediatley happy with our house selection. Hopetown Markets had already delivered most of the groceries and they were put away when we arrived.Location, location, location - the views were stunning, and although serindipitous, my wife and I enjoyed morning coffees reading in the rockers on front porch overlooking the blue/green turquoise water on the ocean coral reef to the east. The wrap around porch was a big plus for us. The pool was large and wonderful, but we so enjoyed the little sandy private beach on White Sound, with ample choice between shade and sun areas, that we went there more than to the pool. All the home appliances one could need, ice maker was a great surprise, dishwasher, washer and dryer and the air conditioning was superb, automatically kicking on when power was lost a few times. We never noticed the power problems. Nice flat screen TV in family great room. Kitchen well laid out and well stocked. The outside property features made the house so fantastic, the winding stairs down to sound beach hut and dock. We had a beautiful 26 boat from Seahourse that they delivered to our dock the following morning and we then returned it to their location at Marsh Harbor on our departure, saving transfering luggage by golf cart and a ferry ride back to Marsh Harbor. Property manager and caretaker arranged for golf carts, groceries and boat for us. We loved "carting" around the island all week and made easy boat jaunts to Man-O War, Guana, Treasure Cay, Marsh Harbor, Mermaid Reef and Lubbers, going on some adventure almost every day. SeaHorse boat rental was tops.Inside the house is just a "smidgen" dated and could be freshened up just a little, but we had no instances to really complain about and way this place was built and laid out worked beautifully with us. The thoughts and visions that created this beautiful home and how it blends into the island were certainly enjoyed by our family. Ample towels, beach towels, etc. Two bedrooms downstairs with kings, upstairs two bedrooms each with two queens?doubles with a shared hallway bath. Everyone enjoyed the private office off the master bedroom with free internet phone service and free internet, also a phone for making free local island calls. Most dinner arrangements made by provided base VHF marine radio. Entertainment center had combo dvd/VHS player with several tapes, but bring a few DVDs jsut in case of storms, otherwise you'll be outside. One of our daily goals was to be on the porch with a cocktail at sunset time, they were spectacular. And of course, this is the Bahamas and the waters lived up to their reputation, crystal clear and 'just right' warm temperatures. Our favorite repeat spot was the sand bar just about 2 miles SW of white sound, we met a lot of other people sitting in the water there enjoying a cool refreshment or two. The Bahamian people are the friendliest most sincere people we ever meet.We did not see another place a that could come close to Paradise and it's double view of the sound and the ocean- we would not have traded for any other location we saw anywhere during the week on any of the islands visited. Many visits to Abaco Inn, Sea Spray Harbor and "on da Beach" where we enjoyed many many conversations with staff and other vacationers. Just a top first rate vacation sealed with a wonderful house selection.

 Dear Larry,

Thank you so much for the glowing review of Paradise.  It sure sounds like your family enjoyed the islands very much.  You made me want to book a trip and I live here!

The homeowner is from Alabama and I think the rockers are a "southern" touch but the guests love to rock and enjoy the view.

Great hints about Sea Horse boat rental and I love also that Hope Town Hideaways and your caretaker were able to get your house stocked for you, especially with a late arrival.

Hope Town is a special place and it does bring family together as you are enjoying this beautiful setting - peaceful and just old-fashioned fun.

We look forward to having you back on the island very soon.  You may not get to book Paradise again as your review was so glowing it may encourage every one else to book ahead of you!
