Elbow Cay's newest property, Firefly Sunset Resort offers seven private rental homes (19B/18B), two freshwater swimming pools and a third private plunge pool, wireless internet throughout the property, chaise lounges & kayaks on Firefly's cove beach as well as the popular Last Light waterfront restaurant & bar. Sweet Tea & Georgia Peach are the largest of the private rental villas each boasting four bedrooms and four baths, sleeping 8 persons but close enough that groups of 16 are reserving them with a sense of "one" estate home. Each home features two living areas so the children can enjoy board games while the adults watch a movie or vice versa! There is an Ipod docking station, flat screen TV and a/c & ceiling fans throughout. The bedrooms are furnished with queen beds except one that offers two extra long twins or housekeeping will make it up as a king bed with king linens. The kitchen has all the modern amenities from dishwasher to granite counter tops. The best feature is the covered deck overlooking the garden, Sea of Abaco and sunsets!
The Villas of Firefly include Dragonfly, Butterfly, and Firefly. Each is a distinct home gathered around a large guests' only pool. All of these charming villas offer two master suites each with private deck entrance, queen bed, and ensuite bath with tub & shower combination. There are high ceilings, air condition & ceiling fans throughout as well as full kitchen with breakfast bar opening up to a dining and living area. Ipod docking station and flat screen TV as well as a collection of board games allow guests to entertain themselves after a long day at the beach or on the boat. Decks are perfect for alfresco meals or watching your children in the pool. There are tropical gardens surrounding the villas and ample deck seating encourages stargazing or enjoying sunsets over the islands.
Java Rum Plantation House is Firefly's premier address. There is a waterfront living room complete with flat screen TV as well as desk area and gaming table all under cathedral ceilings accented with deep, rich mahogany. A separate dining room enriches the feel of your own island home. The extensive decks offer a second living and dining room. There is a splendid gourmet kitchen that will please the most discerning chefs. Golf carts can be parked adjacent to the deck entrance but paths lead to the beach, pool and restaurant beyond. There is also an outside shower.
Mint-2-Be is traditionally reserved for romantic getaways especially island honeymoons. It features its own private plunge pool dramatically perched on the villa's deck at the highest point of Firefly Sunset Resort and is completely hidden by tropical foliage. There are two masters each boasting King beds and ensuite bathrooms. The gourmet kitchen offers breakfast bar and amazing views. Windows line the living room and dining area capturing dramatic scenes of boating between islands, sailboats meandering in the turquoise sea and colorful tropical sunsets. Upon arrival guests are automatically extended charging privileges for Last Light Bar & Grill, on property restaurant & bar serving lunch & dinner. Check the resort's event schedule to discover special events like fish barbecues, sushi night, sports events, live bands or other musical activities. Each villa is completely stocked as a private home so the guests only need bring personal items such as clothes & toiletries, food & beverages.
Daily maid service is available for a nominal fee though stays of at least a week include a complimentary linen change. Guests enjoy dedicated golf cart parking and use of the dock for rental boats & privately owned runabouts (there are no assigned slips and no electric or water so larger boats and all liveaboards need to make arrangements at a nearby marina – suggest Sea Spray or Hope Town Marina).
As you leave the dock to go to your villa, you may want to rinse off in the freshwater conch shell waterfall shower, and then enjoy a dip in one of two pools. Stop by the open-air bar for a cold Kalik beer, Carolina colada, java colada or mojito. Call ahead and have a gourmet dinner to go back to your villa from Chef Gavin's daily specials and extensive "fresh" menu. Your fresh catch of the day can be prepared for you in the restaurant kitchen and served with the day's choice of sides. Use of the barbecue pit or individual charcoal grills are complimentary and make cooking lobster, fish, conch or even burgers, steaks & chicken exciting under a star-filled sky.
Relax, arrangements can be made for next day laundry service – wash, dry & fold. Call and advance for any special requests such as birthday cakes, private dinner parties or gatherings. Babysitting, fishing guides, snorkel & scuba trips, bikes, boats and carts should are available but limited so we encourage you to reserve ahead of time.
